The Belfer Center for Applied Cancer Science is a fully integrated, collaborative cancer research center dedicated to translating today’s most innovative oncology research into tomorrow’s most promising cancer treatments.
This highly focused, goal-oriented organization represents a new academic construct that embeds an industrial approach within a premier academic setting; the Belfer Center is part of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and is affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
The Center’s excellence in leading edge early-stage biology enables its scientists to define the best targets and the optimal clinical path for targeted cancer therapies. The Belfer Center’s strategic collaborations with leading pharmaceutical companies are driving the development of a next generation of cancer therapies.
We are able to use resources unique to Dana-Farber, including:
- Proprietary in vitro and in vivo models
- Patient-derived clinical samples
- Nearly 70 years of institutional expertise in advancing the science and care of cancer in all of its forms
